During that time I have designed and built cloud native systems that range from ETL pipelines and web applications, to image processors and master data management solutions. I have watched and experienced how the AWS ecosystem has evolved and matured over the past decade and how it has driven our architectures and best practices to change along with it. In regulated industries I’ve seen AWS go from being another way to launch virtual machines to supporting serverless services like Lambda and DynamoDB.
Many of those years have been spent talking with companies about how they use AWS and operate in the cloud. Knowing the common issues experienced by different teams has helped me understand what areas are not as straightforward as expected, and what services are often used inappropriately. I've been able to help others using activities like AWS Well-Architected Reviews, addressing runaway costs, and designing deployment systems that will meet an industry's requirements.
My greatest strength is my experience, I know what works because I’ve tried most of the ways that don’t.
